Working meetings to discuss Rivne NPP and Khmelnitsky NPP projects took place

Experts of the Chornobyl Center’s Safety Analysis Laboratory took part in working meetings dealing with implementation of projects at the Rivne NPP and Khmelnitsky NPP.

Within the framework of RNPP Unit 1 Internal Hazards Assessment Project, a meeting between representatives of the Safety Analysis Laboratory and SCIENTECH, Inc. (the U.S. Technical Assistance organization for Rivne NPP In-depth Safety Assessment Project) took place in Kyiv on February 21, 2005. During the meeting the issues on completing “Evaluation of Internal Flood Frequencies” task, as well as the technical issues on developing flood propagation scenarios were discussed.

Within the framework of KhNPP Unit 1 Probabilistic Risk Assessment Project, a meeting between representatives of the Khmelnitsky NPP and Safety Analysis Laboratory took place in Kyiv on February 24-25, 2005. During the meeting, the technical issues on performing the integration of systems model were discussed. The meeting was the next step in the matter of transfering state-of-the-art technologies for NPP safety analysis to KhNPP personnel.
