Participation of IRL Chornobyl Centerspecialist in the VII International Environmental Forum

On April 26, 2012 International Youth Environmental Forum “From the ecology of soul – to the ecology of life” was held, which is now held for the seventh year in order to attract young people to the society life through environmental education. The forum was attended by high school students from Kiev, Minsk, Chernigov, Lvov, the staff of Ukrainian and Russian NPP, members of the International youth organizations.
Traditionally, as a partner of the Environmental Forum acts the Chornobyl center for nuclear safety, radioactive waste and radioecology.

The report “Environmental features of the Exclusion zone and zone of unconditional (obligatory) resettlement” was made by the senior research fellow of ChC, Ph.D. in biology Julia Maklyuk.

She presented information about the Exclusion zone, its geographical location, boundaries, status, soil and water features. Julia spoke about the diversity of flora and fauna in the Zone, about IRL radioecological researches in the Zone.
