Application of modern informational technologies in nuclear-power engineering

22-25 June 2010 in the Chernobyl Center (Slavutych, Ukraine) held an international meeting on the application of automated identification technologies, electronic archives of the design documents and three-dimensional engineering models in the operation and decommissioning of nuclear power units.

Among the participants of the meeting are CJSC “NEOLANT” (Russia), NNEGC “Energoatom”, SSI ChNPP, SSRI “Chernobyl Center”, State Scientific and Technical Center of Nuclear and Radiation Safety (SSTCNRS), etc.

In the course of the meeting were heard reports on the application of automated identification and operational engineering models of NPP units to improve quality and efficiency of work of operational staff, on the experience and prospects of the electronic archives application of drawing and designing documentation and on the application of three-dimensional engineering models in nuclear power of Ukraine.

CJSC “NEOLANT” specialists shared experience of application of informational technologies for problems solution concerning nuclear units decommissioning, as well as for providing of walk-through accounting and control of radioactive waste formation and treatment at NPPs.

Also it was discussed the questions about the current condition and development prospects of the Chernobyl NPP site.
The program of the meeting included a technical tour to the Chernobyl NPP, followed by visit of Prypyat and International Radiological Laboratory of the Chernobyl Center.
