Working meeting on SEOIs development for WWER-1000 reactor units took place

Experts of the Chornobyl Center’s Laboratory for Safety Analysis took part in the working meeting on the development of Symptom-Based Emergency Operating Instructions (EOIs) for WWER-1000 reactor power units.

The working meeting was held in Kyiv on January 17-21, 2005. Representatives of various organizations including NNEGC “Energoatom”, nuclear power plants of Ukraine, the National Nuclear Regulatory Committee, operational support organizations, and Westinghouse Electric took part in the meeting.

During the meeting, technical issues on updating A-3 draft instruction “Primary to secondary coolant leaks” of Zaporizhzhia NPP Unit 5 EOIs package were discussed. Also, results of the thermal and hydraulic analyses performed under the EOIs Analytical Justification were reviewed.

Based on the meeting results, the ZNPP experts will revise A-3 instruction, which further will be used during developing corresponding instructions for other power units with WWER-1000 reactors.
