Investigation of α, β, γ-emitting nuclides concentration in NPP RAW samples for the radionuclide vector identification

Customer: NNEGC “EnergoAtom”, Ukraine

Objective: characterization of RAW radiological properties.

The project was carried out under contract No. 36-018-08-16-00464 dated June 22, 2016.

Numerical values of certain radionuclides specific activity in RAW are used for the following:

  • Calculation of correlation relationship between the activities of easily measurable nuclides (key measurement parameters) and difficult-to-measure ones;
  • Improvement of radioactive waste characterization system at the NPPs of the State Enterprise NNEGC “Energoatom”.

The State Enterprise NNEGC “Energoatom” will use the research results during its joint activities with the European Commission and implementation of U4.01/10В+Е INSC project to develop and implement the strategy of sampling radioactive waste streams at the NPPs and methodology of estimating radionuclide concentration and activity of the difficult-to-measure radionuclides.

The research results were handled to the Customer.
