The Youth Ecological Forum is in Slavutych again

During the work of the Second International Youth Ecological Forum dedicated to the 21-st anniversary of the Chornobyl NPP’s accident, Boris Ia. Oskolvov, candidate of technical sciences, Head of Industrial Ecology and Expertise Department of the International Radioecology Laboratory, made a report on the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone radioecology.

The Forum was held on April 19, 2007 in Slavutych. The representatives of Ukrainian Universities Ecological Departments, SSE ChNPP Youth Council and leaders of youth social organizations in NPP satellite-towns participated in its work.

The objective of this Forum was to involve youth into social life by means of environmental education, formation of ecological awareness of the younger generation on the basis of human values.

The Forum was addressing the tasks of searching for the initiative youth, who has chosen ecology as the direction of their own course of life, and unify them under the idea of ‘ecology of life’. Comprehensive information on the Chornobyl issues was presented; conditions for exchange of information and sharing of experience were created; effective support to the implementation of their own ecological projects was provided.
