On November 16, 2007, experts of the Chornobyl Center’s Nuclear and Physical Calculations Department completed the development of the automated support system for the comprehensive engineering and radiation survey of South-Ukraininan NPP Units 1&2 (ASS CERS).

The automated support system shall ensure collection and sorting of the data on actual state of design and operational documentation, equipment, pipelines, premises, structural elements of buildings and costructions, as well as of the NPP industrial site’s area adjesent to the Unit. The data accumulated in the ASS CERS will be used for the development of the program to extend operational life of the South-Ukrainian NPP.

The peculiarity of the ASS CERS was its creation as the system using a mechanism of data flexible designers. Such an approach will allow supporting the ASS CERS compliance with varying requirements of the enterprise, branch and legislation without a change of the program code and database structure during the system operation.
