Security Upgrades at the Lviv SE Radon

Period: 2007-2014

Customer: Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), USA

The following works are performed within the framework of the project:

  • design and installation of intrusion detection system;
  • design and installation of video monitoring system;
  • design and installation of power supply system;
  • design and installation of security lighting system;
  • design and installation of radio communication system;
  • design and performance of construction works;
  • supply of the installation equipment and materials, protective outfit for guard service;
  • training of the SE Radon personnel.

In 2013, in the course of the project:

  • profile operational information was collected;
  • the collected information was analyzed, items and sections that require updates were identified, layouts of facilities were updated, equipment and CCTV connection diagrams were completed;
  • software set to be deployed at the customer’s site was developed;
  • activities to buildup a stand were performed, as well as all adjustment works to activate operation mode immediately upon the equipment planned for installation at the customer’s site is connected to the equipment stand;
  • executive server for “Radon” was configured;
  • operating stand for the access monitoring and control system (AMCS) was assembled;
  • available AMCS hardware were tested;
  • final software package to be deployed at the customer’s site was defined;
  • configuration of “Radon” executive server was prepared;
  • computer equipment was assembled at the customer’s site;
  • initial setup of necessary software was performed;
  • test run of certain hardware units within AMCS and CCTV system was performed;
  • operator workstations were prepared.

In 2014, in the course of the project:

  • re-setting the video monitoring network at operator stations of checkpoint 1 and checkpoint 2;
  • implementation of the activities to correct faults of the video monitoring system: identification of inoperative cameras;
  • implementation of the activities to correct faults of ACS hardware after a blackout of the entire facility: re-setting ACS monitoring server; provision of oral advice to the individuals responsible for ACS monitoring.
