A guiding regulatory document was developed. It presents a substantiated ecology policies of the ChNPP, ways of its implementation towards creation of a system to manage environmental protection under the conditions of ChNPP units decommissioning and the Shelter Object transformation into ecologically safe system.

The passport identifies ecological aspects subject to the ChNPP’s control and positive impact.

The passport contains a documented approvement required by all concerned parties (regulatory and supervisory authorities, Administration of the Exclusion Zone, mass media, etc.) confirming that the enterprise’s system of radiation and ecology safety assurance and monitoring conforms to the requirements of legal and regulatory documents of Ukraine in the area of nuclear power industry, radiation and ecology safety, environmental protection, and efficient nature management. The activities performed by the SSE ‘ChNPP’ comply with the requirements of the license and other documents issued to the SSE Chornobyl NPP by regulatory and supervisory authorities.

It is noteworthy, that none of the Ukrainian nuclear power plants possesses a document of such type, and the ChNPP experience may be used to this end.
